Assisted Living Project

Housing Those Who Need It Most

Delivering safe, dignified assisted living across the United Kingdom.

Our vision

Everyone deserves a place they can call home a safe-haven they can rely on long term.

But none more so than those with enduring illnesses. How can they expect to take care of themselves with dignity and certainty if they do not have a living space that fits their specialist needs?

At the Assisted Living Project, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with enduring illnesses across the UK by housing those who need it most.

As an independent UK property organisation, our primary focus is on providing exceptional assisted living accommodation to meet the unique needs of our valued tenants.

Our mission

To create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for people with enduring illnesses to thrive and enjoy life to the fullest.

We work hand in hand with housing associations and Community Benefit Societies (CBS) to provide fit for purpose accommodation to those who need it most.

Together with our partners, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our tenants and the wider community.

Leased over 25 years on agreements funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), our goal is to deliver more than 150 homes ready for assisted living occupancy by 2028.

YMCA: The Tenant & Governing Body

The YMCA is one of the world's largest and most established not-for-profit organisations, founded in London in 1844 and now operating in over 120 countries across a global network of more than 12,000 local branches, nearly 90,000 staff, and close to one million volunteers, reaching 40–65 million people each year.

In the United Kingdom (UK), the YMCA is a major institutional housing and support provider, operating thousands of supported living units and working in partnership with local authorities, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and healthcare bodies. Its scale, regulatory oversight, long trading history and balance-sheet strength make it a highly credible long-term partner.

Why it matters

A society that does not care for its citizens is one that is failing at its most basic level.

As the UK's population ages, providing safe, secure homes where vulnerable people can live with dignity has never mattered more. We exist to meet that need, with respect, optimism and care.
